How to choose engine oil for the public?

In 2020, SAIC Volkswagen issued a notice requiring all new EA211 and EA888 National VI engines to use 0W-20 low viscosity engine oil that meets Volkswagen VW50800 standard certification, and not to use oil that does not meet the requirements. So the question is, new Volkswagen models are starting to use 0W-20 engine oil, and some old cars still use 5W-40 engine oil. How should auto repair shops recommend using oil? Don't panic, the public has considered and placed warning signs at specific locations, as shown in the following figure:

The oil filling ports for EA211 engines that require 0W-20 engine oil have been labeled. The inspection method for the EA888 engine is the same as that for the EA211 engine, which looks at the oil filling port. However, the DPLA engine is different and does not have a label, but 0W-20 engine oil must be used. In order to avoid using the wrong oil viscosity, Wells Lubricants has prepared a precise oil query for everyone. The mini program searches for "Wells Oil Assistant" and queries based on the chassis number.

What exactly is "blue oil"?

It is actually the Volkswagen VW 508/509 standard specification engine oil. We know that engine oil is divided into "American standard" (i.e. API standard), "European standard" (i.e. ACEA standard), and various automobile manufacturers have their own oil standards. European car manufacturers like to set their own oil standards. For example, Mercedes Benz's 229.71/229.5 standard, BMW's LL-01/LL-04 standard... Of course, Volkswagen also has its own oil standards. In the era of National V, it is recommended by the public to use VW 502/505 standard engine oil (usually 5W-40); For the new National VI models, it is recommended to use VW 508/509 standard engine oil (grade 0W-20).

What is the color of "blue oil"?

Simply put: Volkswagen VW 508/509 engine oil is more stringent than ACEA C5 engine oil! In order to demonstrate the uniqueness of VW 508/509 standard engine oil and also to prevent car owners from using the wrong oil, Volkswagen has dyed the oil! The dyed engine oil is blue-green and looks very high-end, so it is named "blue oil". It is clear to everyone that dyeing agents have no effect on improving the performance of engine oil.

Is Wells lubricant suitable for the "blue oil" model?

The answer is of course applicable. Wells lubricating oil API SP 0W-20 products have been certified according to the Volkswagen VW 508 00/509 00 standard, but there is a color difference with Volkswagen blue oil. As we mentioned above, the color difference is not related to the quality of the engine oil, so Wells lubricating oil can completely replace Volkswagen "blue oil". Wells has the original factory certificates for Volkswagen VW 502/505 and VW 508/509 engine oil certification. With facts and evidence, we have more confidence! Please rest assured to choose Wells lubricating oil!

Choose Wells for oil change

Wells Lubricants has been specializing in fully synthetic products for 20 years and has obtained API SP/GF-6A/GF-6B certification, Mercedes Benz 229.5, 229.71 certification, Volkswagen VW 502/505 and 508/509 certification, Volvo certification, Cummins certification, etc. It meets ACEA standards and is suitable for the latest China VI and below vehicle models. It is formulated with imported high-quality fully synthetic base oil of polyalphaolefin (PAO), imported Low SAPS type composite additive, and oil soluble organic molybdenum friction improver. It adopts low viscosity, low ash content, and low friction new technology, with superior low-temperature starting performance and fuel economy, energy conservation and emission reduction; Adopting a low sulfur, low phosphorus, and low sulfate ash additive formula to better protect the engine's post-treatment system; Extend engine life; Redefine new protection for cars.

Performance characteristics

National VI technology, compatible with GPF, adopts a formula of low sulfur, low phosphorus, and low sulfate ash additives, effectively solving the problem of low-speed early ignition in turbocharged direct injection engines, improving power while reducing particulate emissions in exhaust, reducing back pressure increase, and better protecting the engine's post-treatment system;

Economy - long-lasting viscosity stability and antioxidant properties, extending oil change intervals, and saving maintenance costs;

Ultra clean - clean dispersion factor technology, effectively reducing the adhesion of deposits such as carbon deposits in oil sludge, and extending the service life of the engine;

Strong oil film - composite additive and oil soluble molybdenum technology formula, improve the adhesion and strength of the oil film, and reduce friction;

Noise reduction - the wear resistance and sealing caused by strong oil film, bringing a better driving and riding experience;
